GEOFFREY WHEATCROFT'S history of the South African mining magnates, The Randlords, has been reissued in paperback by Weidenfeld. He is completing a book on Zionism and its relationship with diaspora Jewry in the home outside Bath he shares with his new wife, Sally, his new daughter, Abigail, and a dog, Fanny.

FRANCIS KING, whose autobiography Yesterday Came Suddenly (Constable) was enthusiastically reviewed by Daniel Farson in September's Literary Review, now lives in Kensington with his cat, called Princess.

JANE DUNN is working on a biography of Antonia White.

SALLY BROWN is curator of modem literary manuscripts at the British Library.

MARTIN WALKER is the Guardiatl correspondent in Washington DC. His definitive history of the Cold War was published by Fourth Estate in September. He is currently engaged in writing a biography of President Clinton.
