BRIAN MASTERS has just completed a new biography of E F Benson, the first to have access to primary family documents. It will probably be called E F Benson and his Family, and will be published by Chatto and Windus in August.

MICHAEL DE-LA-NOY's Michael Ramsey: A Portrait has just been published in paperback by Fount - with all the photographs mixed up.

ANDREW ROBERTS, whose biography of Lord Halifax is reviewed by Alan Bell in this issue, plans a launch party this month in the Cabinet War Room under Horse Guards. Educated for a time at Cranleigh, he is immensely rich and owns a London taxi . He was introduced to Literary Review by Grub Smith.
