ISCHIA 11.5.62

DeaT Dr. Szell,

This morning I received the record of your recording of my 2nd Symphony, and have already played i t several t imes .

Words fail me! I t is a quite fantastic and stupendous performance from every point of view. Firstly i t is absolut3ly rightm usicallyspeaking, and the virtuosi tyofthe performance is quite staggering , especially the Fugato; but everything is phrased and balanced in an unbelievable way, for which I must congratulate you and your magnificent orchestra . . .

Yours very sincerely,
