How good are your wildlife
photography skills?
PAUL McGUINNESS, EDITOR
How do you become a wildlife photographer? Our Snap-Chat feature (p94) each issue asks this question of many of the world’s top photographers. Invariably, the answers include a mixture of luck, perseverance, and putting in
the hours to really get to know and understand your subject. But you also generally need a camera, as well as the time and access to nature to do those endless hard hours. Of course, not everybody has the same opportunity – which is why we decided to launch a new photo competition (p56), open to all, pros and amateurs alike, in the hope of uncovering new talent, and giving aspiring photographers that chance to see their work published alongside the world’s best. What’s more, you don’t even need fancy kit – one of the categories is camera phone photography – so what are you waiting for? Get snapping!
