THE COVER

This Scotch argus image was taken in the Scottish Borders where Andrew Fusek Peters had the whole colony to himself for two days. The species is one of few butterflies that will open its wings when its cloudy and Andrew suffered many midge bites while lying in the grass to get close. The focus-stacked shot was taken with an Olympus OM-1, 60mm macro lens, 1/250th sec at f5, ISO1250.
